A system and a method for providing local information are provided to offer the local information related to location information of a client and searched based on a keyword inputted from the client by mapping one keyword to at least two local network addresses. A keyword database(340) stores the keywords, the network addresses corresponding to keywords, and the location information of the network address. A keyword processing server(330) determines whether the inputted keyword corresponds to the network address of two different locations based on the keyword database. A local information server(320) is connected to the keyword processing server. If the inputted keyword corresponds to the network address of two different locations, the local information server checks the location information of the client(100), obtains the information of the network address close to the client from the checked location information of the client and the location information of the network address corresponding to the inputted keyword, and provides the information to the client.
