A banking system using a mobile terminal having a banking service processing function and a method thereof are provided to enlarge the universality of banking services and prevent account information from leaking out due to the loss of a mobile terminal by installing a reader module in a mobile terminal, reading account information from various bank cards through the reader module, and executing banking services through the read account information. A banking system using a mobile terminal(HP1) having a banking service processing function comprises a plurality of bank cards(C1-Cn), the mobile terminal(HP1), a bank server(BS1), and a communication access unit. Each of the bank cards(C1-Cn), internally storing account information, contains an IC chip, which outputs the account information according to an electrical signal. The mobile terminal(HP1) contains an RF module, which transmits an electrical signal to a bank card and extracts account information from the bank card. The mobile terminal(HP1) makes communication access to the bank server(BS1) through the RF module, and executes various banking services for the bank server(BS1) using the extracted account information. The bank server(BS1) executes card authentication through the account information and authentication information transmitted from the mobile terminal(HP1), receives various banking service request data from the mobile terminal(HP1), performs banking service processing, and transmits processed result data to the mobile terminal(HP1). The communication access unit executes communication access through a wireless Internet network between the mobile terminal(HP1) and the bank server(BS1), and performs the relay of data.
