Chitosan or hyaluronic acid-poly(ethylene oxide)- and chitosan-hyaluronic acid-poly(ethylene oxide)-based hydrogels are provided to have biocompatibility and to be usable as bioactive delivery systems, wound healing patches, cosmetic materials, or tissue-regenerable supporters. The chitosan-chitosan-poly(ethylene oxide) hydrogel is prepared by the steps of: (a) preparing an aqueous solution of chitosan; (b) cross-linking chitosan with a material having an acylate functional group to prepare a chitosan-acrylate derivative; (c) cross-linking chitosan with a material having a methacrylate functional group to prepare a chitosan-methacrylate derivative; and (d) covalent-coupling a mixture of the chitosan derivatives with a material having a thiol functional group.
