The switch points for diverting circular conveyor waggons are automatically operated by the passing truck so that the next-following one is diverted to the other guide rail. The points comprise a straight and a curved section of rail (1, 2). Between the rails is a tongue plate (3) which swivels on a bolt passing through a bearing block (5). An extension to the plate (12) carries two bolted striker blocks, one for the straight section (8) and one for the curved section of rail (7). The passing guide wheel of one suspended waggon in one of the track sections strikes the block, causing the tongue plate to be forced into the other position. The following truck will pass down the other section of rail and drive the tongue back to its original position. A leaf spring bearing on the end of the tongue extension (11) holds it in the operated position each time. |
