Awrinklingpreventing or remedying agent contains a substance, which is capable of inhibiting activity of ADAM ( a d isintegrin a nd m etalloprotease) present in a skin. Wrinkling is prevented or remedied by applying a substance, which is capable of inhibiting activity of ADAM present in a skin, to the skin. Anti-wrinkling effects are evaluated with a method wherein enzymatic activity or a gene expression level of ADAM in a skin, a skin tissue, or cells is used as an index.
