The proposed method for calibrating a profile thin-wire bolometer for measuring energy of a pulse of laser radiation in a long-wave range is distinctive by using, when calibrating the bolometer, an equation that characterizes the dependence of pulse energy on the relative increment of the electrical resistance of the bolometer. The parameters of the said equation are the radiation wavelength, material, and dimensions of the elements of the bolometer. The proposed method provides a possibility to exclude fixed measurement errors caused by the nonlinearity of the bolometer gain. The equation that is used in calibrating the bolometer is true for bolometers of any type.
