<p>In a process to de-gas a liquid or paste medium for subsequent use as a paper coating, the medium is fed to a vacuum container (10) from which gas and medium are separately discharged. Immediately prior to the de-gassing process in the vacuum container (10), the medium is first de-gassed in a prior art cyclone de-gassing assembly (4), resulting in a liquid fraction (1a) and a foam fraction (7). The liquid fraction and foam fraction are discharged separately. Further claimed is a commensurate de-gassing assembly.</p> |
