POWER SUPPLY FOR PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

A power supply for a PDP is provided to enhance user convenience by implementing a ready state in order to directly restart after stopping the operation of the PDP in an abnormal state of a source voltage. A power supply for a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) includes a latch unit(31), a source voltage blocking unit(32), a diode(35), and a switch(36). The latch unit outputs a latch-up signal(Slatch) when the power supply is in an abnormal state. The source voltage blocking unit includes a thyristor(321) having a gate to which the latch-up signal is supplied and an anode to which a standby voltage is supplied, and a cathode which is grounded, and blocks a source voltage when the anode voltage of the thyristor is decreased. An anode of the diode is connected to the anode of the thyristor. The switch is turned on/off according to a power supply control signal(PS-ON), such that a cathode of the diode is grounded or opened.
