<p>A system and method are provided for treatment of cancer, comprising: a focusable energy source for targeting a region of interest in a human or animal body to achieve hyperthermia in the region of interest; and a magnetic resonance imaging unit arranged to monitor at least one physical parameter related to oxygenation level spatially in and around the region of interest. The physical parameters may be one or more of partial oxygen pressure (pO2), temperature, carbon dioxide level (CO2) and acidity (pH).</p> |
