Processes for determining an identifier, biometric verification and associated systems.

The method involves determining a word of an error corrector code and a desired discrimination level. An identifier (Hc1) stored on an identity database (8) in association with an identity (I-1) related to an individual (1) is determined. The identifier has a discriminating power corresponding to the desired discrimination level. A hashing function applied for obtaining the identifier is applied to the word of the error corrector code. Result of the application of the hashing function to the word of the error corrector code is compared with the determined identifier. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a biometric verification system comprising a digital processing unit arranged for implementing an individual`s identity biometric verification method (2) a computer program product comprising code instructions adapted to implement an individual`s identity biometric verification method.
