A device and a method for inputting information with a shortcut key are provided to enable a user to conveniently input the information by automatically inputting the preset information with one shortcut key without repeatedly inputting a key whenever a host device requests the information frequently inputted by the user. An operation detector(300) detects operation of the shortcut key and outputs a detection result. An information storing part(330) stores the information inputted in response to each input situation. An input situation determiner(310) determines the input situation by responding to the detection result. An information searcher(340) searches the information corresponding to the determined input situation from the information storing part. An information input part(350) inputs the searched information. The information storing part stores a plurality of input information and the number of shortcut key operations is set to each input information. The information searcher searches the information to be inputted in response to the detected number of shortcut key operations and the determined input situation.
