Medicament and dietetic food, comprising cinnamon and extracts of the cinnamon bark and their use

Use of cinnamon and its extract (I) for the reduction of the energy consumption with the food, is new. An independent claim is also included for a medicament or dietetic food comprising (I) for the reduction of the energy consumption with the food. ACTIVITY : Anorectic; Antidiabetic; Ophthalmological; Neuroprotective. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Alpha amylase inhibitor. The ability of (I) to inhibit alpha amylase was tested in vitro using biological assays. The result showed that (I) exhibited the inhibiting activity of 30 mu g/ml.
