The proposed method for measuring pulse frequency consists in forming two identical time intervals, filling the first time interval with pulses the frequency of which is to be measured, forming timing pulses with frequency that is equal to the reference frequency divided into the conversion coefficient determined with consideration for the required measurement error, measuring the number of pulses in the first and second time intervals, and determining the frequency of the controlled pulses as the product of the timing pulse frequency by the ratio between the number of pulses in the first time interval ant the number of pulses in the second time interval. The proposed device for the realization of the method contains a pulse former, a D trigger, two AND logic elements, a reference-frequency pulse generator, two pulse counters, a frequency divider with the controlled division factor, a computing unit, and a control unit. The proposed method and device are distinctive by their increased accuracy and extended functionality range.
