A linear compressor is provided to prevent oil leakage by making oil to be not mixed with high pressure refrigerant, and to prevent abrasion and wear by actively performing cooling and lubrication with oil. A linear compressor comprises a shell(52), a structure body, a closed suction flow path and an opened discharge flow path. The shell includes an inflow pipe and a flow-out pipe for flowing refrigerant, and stores oil in a bottom surface by forming closed space in the inside. The structure body equipped in the shell suctions the refrigerant into compression space between a cylinder(54) and a piston(56), compresses and discharges it by linearly reciprocating the piston inside the cylinder. The closed suction flow path forms a closed flow path between the compression space so that the refrigerant is directly flowed into the compression space form the inflow pipe of the shell. The opened discharge flow path forms an opened flow path so that high pressure refrigerant is flowed out to the flow-out pipe.
