BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to improve the heat radiation performance without increase of thickness, by joining a heat radiating member to a groove of a buffer member through a hole of a bottom chassis. A flat fluorescent lamp(200) includes a lamp body(210) for generating light, and an electrode part formed on the lamp body. A buffer member(300) is contacted with the electrode part, wherein the buffer member has at least one groove. A bottom chassis(400) is composed of a bottom plate(410) and a sidewall(420) to receive the flat fluorescent lamp. The bottom chassis has a hole(412) corresponding to the groove of the buffer member. A heat radiating member(500) is joined to the groove of the buffer member through the hole of the bottom chassis.
