A method and an apparatus for driving a passive matrix organic light emitting diode are provided to suppress a cross-talk due to an excessive bias current by adjusting the magnitude of the bias current. An apparatus for driving a passive matrix organic light emitting diode includes a current driver(45), a signal processor(42), and a bias current amplifier(44). The current driver drives each unit light emitting element according to a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal. The signal processor converts image data to the PWM signal and generates a bias control signal, which regulates the magnitude and width of a bias current. The bias current amplifier regulates the magnitude and width of the bias current according to the bias control signal and supplies the result to the current driver.
