A method of recording data for time shift is provided to record a time-shifted video material and permanently store the recorded video material. Time-shift data is stored in a time-shift hard disk drive while a broadcasting program is played(S200). The stored time-shift data is moved to a recording time by using a key input unit of a digital broadcasting receiver. When a recording instruction is inputted(S206), time-shift data, which has been stored from a time when the recording instruction is inputted to the current broadcasting time, is copied to another storage medium and stored therein, and the current broadcasting program is continuously recorded(S208).
