A backlight assembly and an LCD having the same are provided to prevent noise from being generated due to vibration of a lamp, by disposing clip portions for fixing the lamp to be distanced from a bottom plate of a side mold. A plurality of lamps are received in a receiving container. A lamp fixing member(400) includes conductive clip portions(410) fixing both ends of the lamps and a clip connection portion(420) for electrically connecting the clip portions. A first side mold(500) includes a bottom plate and supports protruded from the bottom plate. The clip connection portion of the lamp fixing member is stably placed by the supports. The clip portions are distanced from the bottom plate of the first side mold at a predetermined interval.
