An apparatus for decoding a broadcasting signal is provided to decode a received broadcasting signal through an efficient decoding process with low power consumption. A broadcasting signal decoding apparatus includes an upload memory access unit(110), a temporary storage unit(140), a decoder(130), and a download memory access unit(150). The upload memory access unit reads data to be decoded from a storage medium. The temporary storage unit temporarily stores data output from the upload memory access unit. The decoder reads the data stored in the temporary storage unit, error-correction-decodes the read data, and then stores the decoded data in the temporary storage unit. The download memory access unit reads the decoded data stored in the temporary storage unit and writes the read data in the storage medium.
