A remote setting/releasing method for a call forwarding service is provided to enable a user to release or reestablish a call forwarding service freely in a remote place by previously storing a service setup number, automatically setting the call forwarding service to the service setup number through an auto response function if it is judged that the user is in his absence, and automatically releasing the call forwarding service through an off-hook detection function if it is judged that the user is at home. If a ring is detected on a line, a ring detector notifies a central controller of it. The central controller counts detected rings(110). If rings are detected more than preset times, the central controller searches a memory part and obtains a service setup number and a service sequence code(120). The central controller controls a relay driving part to form a loop on the line, outputs a composite frequency to the line through a composite frequency generator. The central controller controls the relay driving part again and releases the loop(130). Then the central controller sets a flag indicating that the call forwarding function is in service(140). |
