An agent comprising a culture solution or an extract of photosynthetic bacteria is provided to be used as a therapeutic agent for respiratory diseases with no side effects and excellent effects compared to conventional antihistamine agents and antibiotics. The agent for treating respiratory diseases such as allergic rhinitis, hypertrophic rhinitis, paranasal sinusitis and cold diseases comprises at least one of photosynthetic bacteria such as Rhodopseudomonas capsulata, Rhodopseudomonas sphaeroides and Rhodospirillum rubrum, a culture solution thereof and an extract thereof. The agent further comprises at least one extract selected from the group consisting of an extract of Xanthium strumarium L., an extract of Magnolia liliflora, an extract of Angelica dahurica, and an extract of Mentha arvensis var. piperascens. |
