DVB-H CBMS SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING ACTIVE HANDOVER IN THE SAME

A portable digital video broadcasting and convergence of broadcasting and mobile service system and a method for supporting active handover in the system are provided to offer the active handover to a terminal which is in a situation incapable of receiving a broadcasting signal, thereby supplying a seamless service even to a moving user. Reception intensity of a service that a user currently receives is checked to attempt passive handover if the reception intensity is less than a reference value(700-720). If the passive handover fails, a terminal demands active handover to a network(711-740). The terminal receives a response for the demand from the network, and transmits an active handover confirm message to the network(750,760). The terminal performs a tuning operation for searching a transport stream of the currently received service by moving a reception frequency, and completes the handover(770). The terminal keeps receiving the currently received service through a channel generated by the handover(701).
