A mate searching service system through a mobile communication network and a method thereof are provided to increase the ARPU(Average Revenue Per Unit) of a service provider by combining the photographing function of mobile terminals with a wireless Internet service technology and providing a new entertainment service. A mate searching service system through a mobile communication network consists of a mobile terminal(100), a remote server(200), and an MMS(Multimedia Message Service) server(300). The mobile terminal(100) has a camera basically. The remote server(200), providing a mate searching service, comprises a photo selection part(202), a photo database(204), and a photo transmitting part(206). If the user of the mobile terminal(100) photographs his face using the camera of the mobile terminal(100) and transmits it to the remote server(200), the photo selection part(202) selects a photo of the opposite sex matched with the transmitted photo, based on the photo database(204). The photo transmitting part(206) transmits the selected photo to the user's mobile terminal(100) through the MMS server(300).
