A conveyance system is provided to buffer workpiece by individually stopping and driving conveyors and to shorten a traveling distance of a stacker crane with the workpiece. A conveyance system(2) includes a first automatic storehouse(4), a second automatic storehouse(10) connected to the first automatic storehouse, racks(6,7) of the first automatic storehouse, and racks(12,13) of the second automatic storehouse. The first storehouse includes a single or a plurality of stacker cranes(8) corresponding to a first conveyor. The second storehouse includes a single or a plurality of stacker cranes(14). A plurality of second storehouses are connected perpendicularly to the first storehouse, and the racks are not installed in the first storehouse but the stacker cranes are installed to travel so that an accumulating body(16) to accumulate the workpiece is conveyed between the second storehouses. In the second storehouse, a conveyor is installed over the whole distance in the longitudinal direction, preferably to the ceiling of the racks.
