A memory card system, a memory card, and an application program performing method thereof are provided to reduce time required for checking application program information by receiving a list of application programs included in the memory card and offer a convenient/efficient interface to a user by supplying the list before the application program is executed. A host(20) requests the application program list to the memory card(10). The memory card includes a CPU(13) processing an application program list request of the host, a memory(15) storing the application program list, and an I/O(Input/Output) device(11) transmitting output signals including the application program list to the host. The I/O device includes a command line receiving commands from the host and transmitting signals in response to the commands to the host, and a data line communicating data with the host. The host includes a display device(23) displaying the application program list to a screen and an input device(25) receiving a selection signal corresponding to the screen from the user and transferring the selection signal to a controller(21).
