A method for controlling a microphone/ear speaker gain in a mobile terminal is provided to improve the usage convenience of a mobile terminal by removing the necessity of manually adjusting a gain of a microphone or a speaker each time by a user according to a usage area of a mobile terminal. When a call request is generated(S31), a controller of a mobile terminal checks whether microphone and ear speaker gain values corresponding to current location information are stored in a storage unit(S32). When microphone and ear speaker gain values have not been stored, the controller controls gains of the microphone and ear speaker by applying a default microphone and ear speaker gain values(S33). While performing call communication, the controller checks whether a user controls gains of the microphone and the ear speaker through a gain control key(S35). When the user controls the gains of the microphone and the ear speaker, the controller controls the gains of the microphone and the ear speakers by applying gain values controlled by the user and stores the current location information and the corresponding gain values in the storage(S37), and the call is continuously performed(S38).
