A method for packing food with liquid and a packing material for the same are provided to prevent bacteria increase and to make edges of the package smooth. In a method for packing food with liquid, a film(1-3) is attached to the upper rim(1-2) of an open-topped packaging container(1-1) to accommodate food and liquid to obtain a package(1). Food to be packaged is accommodated in the packaging container fed to a conveyor(10) and a liquid is added to the food from a liquid supply(2) installed above the conveyor. After that, sealing is performed by a thermal welding machine(3) while the film is fed from a film supply(4) in a sealing unit(3a) and cutting is performed by a cutting blade(5a) of a cutting machine(5). The food is packaged by sealing the film whole upper side of the rim of the packaging container and the edge and the film attached to the edge are cut. The sealing is performed by the sealing unit of the thermal welding machine such that the film positioned on the rim of the container is pressed and sealed on the front side by the heat generated from the sealing unit.
