A dehydration method of a standing washing machine is provided to improve the life span of a motor by regulating on- and off-time of a motor according to dehydration time and loading amount to prevent an overload of the motor, thereby improving the efficiency of the motor. A dehydration method of a standing washing machine includes the steps of: detecting the amount of cloth of laundry articles(S1); setting a dehydration pattern according to the amount of the cloth of the laundry articles; and performing a dehydration operation of the laundry articles according to the set dehydration pattern. The step of performing the dehydration operation includes the sub-steps of: accelerating a washing tub to a set RPM by using a motor(S10); and operating the washing tub at a constant RPM by using the motor. |
