A common voltage driving circuit and method for an LCD panel are provided to reduce power consumption by adjusting current consumption in a common voltage generator according to voltage conditions, such as a ground and a low voltage under the ground. A common voltage driving circuit which outputs the common voltage to drive an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel includes a controller and a selection unit. The controller outputs a control signal to select one of first to fourth voltages(VCOMH,VCC,GND,VCOML). The selection unit receives the control signal, selects one of the first to fourth voltages, and outputs the selected voltage as a common voltage(VCOM).
