An apparatus for displaying a distance between an obstacle and a rear of a vehicle by using an ultrasonic sensor is provided to previously mix image information taken by a CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) image sensor with distance information detected by the ultrasonic sensor to transmit the result to a display device. Plural ultrasonic sensors(10) detect a distance between a rear of a vehicle and an object positioned at the rear. A controller(11) adopts the nearest distance information among the distance information detected by the ultrasonic sensors, and outputs numeral information corresponding to the distance information to a CMOS image sensor(13). An EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory)(12) stores the numeral data corresponding to the distance information, and outputs the numeral information to the CMOS image sensor. The CMOS image sensor supplies the distance information data to a display device(15).
