A slide gate valve for pressure control is provided to reduce a frictional surface against a valve housing by forming a pressing portion on a lower protruding portion of a valve plate. A valve housing(100) has a passage(105) connecting openings(102,103) formed on upper and lower surfaces of the valve housing, in which a horizontal space(107) is formed in a given section of the passage. A contact member(120) is positioned in the horizontal space of the valve housing, and is coupled to the opening formed on the upper surface of the passage. The contact member has an O-ring positioned on a bottom surface thereof. A valve plate(140) is axially coupled to a lower portion of the horizontal space, and a driving unit(165) is positioned in the lower portion of the valve housing.
