MEDICAL IMAGE DATA STORAGE APPARATUS AND STORAGE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a storage medium when preserving medical image data in a server and to prevent data from being deleted undesirably.

SOLUTION: The medical image data storage apparatus comprises: a setting means for setting a preservation period for each data kind for the medical image data acquired by photographing a subject and setting either a first period of preserving them permanently as long as deletion is not requested and a relatively short second period; and a data deletion means for receiving event notifying information from an information management device when the processing of image reading or diagnosing or the like is executed by using the medical image data preserved in a storage medium, and deleting the image data whose preservation period is set to the second period from the storage medium when the prescribed processing is completed on the basis of the data of the preservation period set in advance and the event notifying information.
