PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a long developer life while maintaining a high-reliability image by using a developing system and a developer with low carrier spent property and highly controlling the fluidity of a toner and the developer. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is used including an image carrier which bears an electrostatic latent image on a surface thereof and a developing device which has a developer carrier comprising a nonmagnetic developing sleeve which has a stationary magnetic field generating means within and rotates while bearing a two-component developer consisting of a magnetic carrier and toner on a surface thereof, which has a development field generating means to generate a development field between the image carrier and the developer carrier, and which converts the electrostatic latent image on the image carrier into a toner image by the action of the development field using the toner in the two-component developer borne on the developer carrier, wherein at least one developer having a flow rate index 25FRI value of 0-2.0 is used as the above developer.
