PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cloth feeder of a sewing machine capable of approximately uniformizing sewing pitches. SOLUTION: This cloth feeder 1 of the sewing machine is provided with: a cloth feed mechanism S feeding a cloth mounted on a needle plate 2 by a feed dog synchronously with the vertical movement of a needle bar 4 vertically moving by the driving of a sewing machine motor; a cloth feed pitch input means inputting data of a cloth feed pitch by the cloth feed mechanism S; a drive control means driving the cloth feed mechanism S based on the data of cloth feed pitch input by the cloth feed pitch input means; a cloth thickness detecting means 70 detecting the thickness of the cloth fed by the cloth feed mechanism S; a storage means storing a cloth feed pitch conversion table associating the thickness of the cloth with the cloth feed pitch fitted to the thickness; and a cloth feed pitch correction means extracting the cloth feed pitch corresponding to the thickness of the cloth detected by the cloth thickness detecting means 70 from the cloth feed pitch conversion table and correcting the data of the cloth feed pitch input by the cloth feed pitch input means for making the pitch to the extracted cloth feed pitch.
