<p>A welding process is divided into a preliminary energizing process and a regular welding process. During the preliminary energizing process, prior to regularly welding a connection plate to a battery, the electrode of a resistance welding machine is used to press the connection plate to the battery cell, and a current smaller than that used for a regular welding is delivered for a time shorter than an energizing time for the regular welding; and during the regular welding process, a specified magnitude of current required for the regular welding is delivered for a specified time with the pressing by the electrode of the resistance welding machine kept sustained to weld the electrode to the battery cell. Accordingly, a stable welding is possible without a welding current being affected by a variation in reactive current.</p> |
