ANTI-INFLAMMATORY THERAPEUTIC AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic agent that minimizes an apoptosis action on normal cells and has an enhanced anti-inflammatory effect.

SOLUTION: The anti-inflammatory therapeutic agent is obtained by using both a specific steroid medicine and a composition derived from the root of Scutellaria baicalensis. The use of a steroid medicine alone causes an adverse effect by apoptosis on normal cells. On the other hand, the use of a steroid medicine together with the component derived from the root of Scutellaria baicalensis alleviates the apoptosis action of a steroid medicine on normal cells but keeps the anti-inflammatory effect of a steroid medicine.
