<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive embrocation for suppressing rhinitis, easily available for anyone. <P>SOLUTION: The embrocation for suppressing rhinitis contains Houttuynia cordata extract as the main ingredient. Another version of the embrocation contains Houttuynia cordata's squeezed juice as the main ingredient. In the embrocation, the Houttuynia cordata extract is obtained by drying the leaves, stems, buds, roots, etc., of Houttuynia cordata followed by subjecting them to extraction with water, or, optionally, by pulverizing them by an ordinary method. The squeezed juice of Houttuynia cordata is obtained by squeezing raw Houttuynia cordata by an ordinary method or, optionally, by such a method as beating, rubbing or mincing. Either of the above embrocation can be applied directly to inflamed parts, or a filter infiltrated with the embrocation may be stuffed in the nose hole.
