摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell membrane electrode assembly which increases three-phase interface and a gas permeability and secures an electron transfer pathway, resulting in power generation efficiency improvement, and to provide a method for fabrication thereof. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell membrane electrode assembly comprises a solid polyelectrolyte membrane 16 and a catalyst layer 13 having at least a catalyst 14 and a solid polyelectrolyte 15, and the catalyst layer has a hole 12. This fuel cell membrane electrode assembly fabrication method comprises a step for mounting a casting mold with a fine pores on the solid polyelectrolyte membrane; a step for installing a catalyst and a solid polyelectrolyte in the fine pores of the casting mold by an electrophoretic method in a solution in which at least the catalyst and the solid polyelectrolyte are dispersed; and a step for forming the hole by removing the casting mold to produce the catalyst layer with the catalyst and solid polyelectrolyte. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
