PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve quick data access to each storage medium even when a plurality of storage media are incorporated or mountable. SOLUTION: The storage controller 1A is configured by connecting: a CPU 101 for controlling each configuration; a ROM 102 for storing a program to be executed by the CPU 101 and data necessary for the program; a RAM 103 to be used as a work area when the program is executed by the CPU 101, a first ASIC(USB system) 2A for controlling data transfer based on USB specifications; and a second ASIC(external memory system) 5 for controlling data access relating to the reade/write of data for external memories 71 to 74 to be respectively inserted into slots 61 to 64, through buses(address bus 104, data bus 105).
