PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and accurately detecting a detergent (surfactant) remaining at the time of washing and rinsing of tableware, clothing or equipment, a method capable of being utilized in the confirmation of a rising state and a residual detergent detector. SOLUTION: The residual detergent bonded to the surface of an inspection target is simply detected by a chemical emission phenomena produced by the contact of the inspection target with a composition (inspection chemical agent) composed of an oxalate, a fluorescent substance, hydrogen peroxide and an organic strong acid.
