PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device capable of protecting a head depending on the temperature of the head. SOLUTION: This liquid jet device comprises a drive signal generation section for generating a drive signal, a liquid jet section for jetting a liquid droplet according to the drive signal, a connection wire connecting the drive signal generation section to the liquid jet section, a control section having a switch for switching the connection wire between the connection and the cutting, and a sensor for outputting a signal depending on the temperature of the head. When the sensor outputs a signal indicative of the temperature higher than a first temperature, the control section maintains the connection of the connection wire. While the liquid jet section carries out the jetting of liquid droplets according to the drive signals, the drive signal generation section stops the generation of the drive signal for a prescribed time period. When the sensor outputs a signal indicative of the temperature higher than a second temperature which is higher than the first temperature, the control section cuts the connection wire.
