METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACQUIRING EXTERNAL CHARGED CONTENT IN UPnP NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for purchasing external charged contents in a UPnP network and providing the purchased contents to a UPnP media renderer.

SOLUTION: The UPnP media server provides a URL for executing CGI for purchasing charged contents existing in an external server to the UPnP media renderer, the UPnP media renderer provides the URL for executing the CGI. When the reproduction of the contents is requested, the CGI of the URL is executed and the charged contents are purchased and downloaded. Consequently, a user can purchase the required contents and reproduce the purchased contents by browsing a list of contents provided from an external content selling site through a CE device such as a DTV on which a UPnP AV control point is loaded without using a special interface.
