<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data setting device for an image recognition device for setting optimal inspection data by dividing the surface color of a part to be inspected into several constituting colors, and calculating the statistic of each constituting color and the similarity of the constituting colors. <P>SOLUTION: The data setting device for setting the setting data of the image recognition device for recognizing the image for recognition of an object to be recognized based on setting data is provided with: a recognition image input part for designating a recognition area in the image for recognition where the object to be recognized is imaged; a constituting color processing part for extracting the position of the constituting colors of the object to be recognized based on the image in the recognition area, and for calculating statistic indicating the variation of the colors concerning the constituting colors; and an inspection data determining part for determining the extraction color range of the object to be recognized based on the statistic.
