A process and apparatus for producing a package of a molded heating composition in which a moldable surplus-water-containing heating composition is used to produce the package of a molded heating composition with satisfactory productivity. The apparatus is characterized in that a slat conveyor (2) is employed which is obtained by connecting slats (3) each having through-holes (4) for passing a moldable surplus-water-containing heating composition therethrough to form moldings of the composition, that the direction of the connection is the traveling direction, and that gap-filling parts (7) extending over a range not smaller than the traveling-direction width of the through-holes (4) are disposed between the slats (3).
