PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet head superior in ink ejection efficiency. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a plurality of partition walls 2a secured on a channel member 16 through a joint material 14 to form pressure chambers 2, a common electrode 11 sewing as a diaphragm and a first electrode secured on the plurality of partition walls 2a, a piezoelectric film 10 formed on the common electrode 11 serving as a diaphragm, and a second electrode 3 formed on the piezoelectric film 10, wherein the piezoelectric film 10 is displaced in the direction of varying the volume of the pressure chamber 2 by applying a predetermined voltage across the common electrode 11 serving as a diaphragm and second electrode 3 with a level difference portion 2b included by each of the plurality of partition walls 2a. The ink jet head is arranged so that the joint material 14 even if projecting into the pressure chamber 2, stops at the level difference portion 2b and does not reach the common electrode 11 serving as a diaphragm.
