PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaged coffee beverage enhanced in aroma as a product, and full of the same aroma as that of coffee made through dripping roasted coffee beans or coarse-ground coffee beans at home. SOLUTION: The packaged coffee beverage is obtained through the following process: charging roasted coffee raw material in a coffee raw material-storing container having many openings allowing extraction water and coffee extract liquid to pass through but preventing roasted coffee raw material to be extracted from passing through; supporting the coffee raw material-storing container in an airtight container charged with the extraction water so as to be rotatable; charging the extraction water in the airtight container; rotating the coffee raw material-storing container to extract coffee from the coffee raw material; adding sugar, cream and/or the like to the obtained coffee extract liquid as necessary to prepare a mixture liquid; and subjecting the mixture liquid to short-time and high-temperature sterilization at 120-135°C for 30-120 sec followed by charging the mixture liquid in a package; and sealing the package closely.
