The valve train has an intermediate lever (7) moved along a fixed curve by a rotatable cam disc (6). A work curve operating a transmission unit (20) e.g. rocker arm, is located at the lever. The unit stays in connection with a gas exchange valve (14). An adjusting unit (12) loads the lever in such a manner that a contact area between the lever and transmission unit is moved along the work curve. The adjusting unit and lever together execute a relative movement in such a manner that ending of a valve stroke movement is adjusted in a direction relative to a rotating angle of the adjusting unit.
