<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect any fault in a field circuit regardless of whether or not a field current is passed in a rotary electric machine having a field winding required to be highly reliable. <P>SOLUTION: A field drive circuit 11 includes: a field driving section 13 that PWM controls direct-current power by a PWM switching element 131; and a fault diagnosis section 14 that carries out a fault diagnosis of a field circuit including the field driving section 13 and a field winding 21. The fault diagnosis section 14 has a voltage sensor 141 connected to the wire connection between the field driving section 13 and the field winding 21. A fault diagnosis of the field circuit including the field driving section 11 and the field winding 21 is carried out based on the relation between the on/off state of the PWM switching element 131 and a measured value from the voltage sensor 141. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
