<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated abrasive in which an energy cured hot-melt make coat is applied to a backing, and the backing need not be sealed. <P>SOLUTION: A coated abrasive article comprises a backing 12, a first binder 18 on the backing, and a large number of abrasive particles 16 in the first binder.
