PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator providing stable non-contact guide by removing unnecessary vibration components from a non-contact guide control system and to surely guide a car by a guide rail. SOLUTION: This elevator comprises the guide rail 2 vertically installed in a hoistway, the car 3 lifting along the guide rail, and a guide device 5 installed on the car with an elastic body interposed between itself and the car and guiding the car by generating a magnetic force via a space formed between itself and the guide rail.
